Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Refurbished With Smaller Batteries to Be Launched

According to a recent report from the investor, Samsung is said to be working on a Refurbished Galaxy Note 7, and its expected to come with a bit chopped down battery capacity in other to avoid the physical harm caused by last year’s Note 7 release

You’d recall that last year Galaxy Note 7 was married with several battery issue reports, which lead most of the device to caught fire, in a quick respond to this, Samsung had to recall all the units sold, and of course it later went further to roll out an update to remotely disable them from exploding

The Note 7 debuted in August last year. Before its production and sales were suspended in October, about 4.3 million units of the phone were produced.

What we know about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Refurbished

If the recent report is anything to go with, Samsung is said to be preparing apply for safety certification of the Galaxy Note 7 refurbished model from the state-run National Radio Research Agency. The company recently gained similar approval from the US Federal Communications Commission.

Considering the approval process takes up to one month, the phone could hit the shelves by May or early June, as the report said. At set, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7R will only be seen in Korea market. because Samsung is still evaluating whether to make the phone available in other countries

According to leaked images and information about the Note 7R, the refurbished model is expected to have a 3,200 mAh battery capacity that can run on the Android 7.0 operating system. The original Note 7 featured a 3,500 mAh battery and the Android 6.0.1 OS.

Although we expect to see the device been released later this year, but there hasn’t been any launch date stated yet, a Samsung official was however quoted to have said:

“We have not yet decided on the phone’s launch schedule, We plan to launch the phone before the Galaxy Note 8 that comes out later this year.”

Rumors also has it that the phone may likely be priced about 50 percent cheaper than the discontinued Note 7, but recent report suggests that the price will be substantially lower, at about half the original cost of a Galaxy Note 7, which would be around $440.
