Samsung to remotely disable unreturned Galaxy Note 7 in US & Europe

Samsung has made it known that its remaining Galaxy Note 7 units sold in Europe (US ) which users has refused to returned would be remotely disable via an update that will be pushed in order to force those in possession of the device to finally return it

The Company has been trying to get all Note 7 units sold returned following series of battery explosion reported, you would recalled that this forced Samsung to shut down permanently production of the device in order to safe guide the lives of its users

Samsung has before now called upon all Note 7 users to return theirs and has equally made various incentives available to further ease the disappointment met, so far over 93% of the device sold in the US has been returned with about 7% still hanging among several die hard users..

Previous efforts made

In order to make those remaining 7% return theirs, the Company released an update that pegged the battery charge limit to 60%, but that doesn’t seems to do much, Now Samsung is bent on releasing another update that woul further limit the Galaxy Note 7 battery charge to 30%

“As part of our absolute focus on customer safety, from 15th December, all Galaxy Note7 devices will receive a new battery software update that will limit the maximum charging capacity to 30 percent,” – Samsung UK

When it will hit the US

Similarly those in US should be getting ready for an update set to be pushed on 16th of December, the software update will literally stop the Galaxy Note 7 from charging, thus rendering it useless, however users on the T-mobile units will be hit by the update on 27th of December

“Today, Samsung announced an update to the Galaxy Note7 that would stop the smartphone from charging, rendering it useless unless attached to a power charger. Verizon will not be taking part in this update because of the added risk this could pose to Galaxy Note7 users that do not have another device to switch to. We will not push a software upgrade that will eliminate the ability for the Note7 to work as a mobile device in the heart of the holiday travel season. We do not want to make it impossible to contact family, first responders or medical professionals in an emergency situation.” : T-mobile

From us here we advice if you still abhorring the Note 7 to kindly do yourselves a favor and return while you still can, your safety is of great importance .. pls do the needful.
