Am sure some dudes actually benefited from the N-Power Program, Well, The Federal Government of Nigeria FG, is about to Kick Start the Online Registration for unemployed youths in Nigeria and its slated to commence tomorrow, 5th of April
The exercise is basically to collect data, and as well keep an up to date information about the state of unemployment in the Country, Of course this should in turn help the government channel likely means of absorbing some of the youths into one parastatal or another
The commencement of the online registration was made know yesterday in Abuja by The Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Edmund Onwuliri. In his words, he said the registration was to meet up with NDE’s mandate “to obtain and maintain a data bank on unemployment and vacancies in the country.”
He further stated that, the exercise would enable the ministry properly link job seekers with existing vacancies in government agencies and private sector, while reducing the rate at which most unemployed youths are being exploit, in other words the site would function as a job or vacancy portal where job seekers can log on to, search and apply for any available vacancies
“The online portal which goes live on Wednesday April 5, 2017, is designed to capture the relevant details of any unemployed person. It will equally serve as a job exchange portal that will link job seekers and employers.
“There will be a practical demonstration of the workings of the portal at the NDE stand at the ongoing 28th edition of the Enugu International Trade on Thursday”, he said. He however went further to reveal the portal address as Jobforall
“The directorate sees this initiative as a bold step toward deepening the effectiveness of its employment creation strategies and a critical input into the process of designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programmes and schemes.”
Well, The Federal Government Online Registration portal for unemployed Youths might not be the solution, but Jobforall if properly managed, should go a long way reducing the rate at which people are being exploited all in the name of seeking employment.
