Facebook Founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has announced the company readiness to add over 3,000 workers to its existing 4,500 team to further help strength the platform
According to Mark, the decision to employ more hands becomes necessary considering recent reports of people posting pictures or video on Facebook mins before hurting themselves
This and several other reasons prompted the company to look at ways through which it could build a more safer community where people are promptly attended to
Speaking of safety, the over 3,000 people to be employed will help Facebook review and quickly remove any unwanted and unhealthy language posted on the platform, such as hate speech or child exploitation
You’d recall several cases of users posting video on Facebook only for others to read mins later that they had passed on, Well things are about to change, as the company is said to be ready to work with law enforcement agencies to swiftly contact them in case anyone needs help
In his words “ We’re going to make it simpler to report problems to us, faster for our reviewers to determine which posts violate our standards and easier for them to contact law enforcement if someone needs help. As these become available they should help make our community safer.”
This is important. Just last week, we got a report that someone on Live was considering suicide. We immediately reached out to law enforcement, and they were able to prevent him from hurting himself. In other cases, we weren’t so fortunate.
No one should be in this situation in the first place, but if they are, then we should build a safe community that gets them the help they need. “
