News making waves currently suggest HMD Global CEO, Arto Nummela is resigning from the company with an immediate effect. Nummela however did not give any reasons for his actions
The Parent Company Nokia one of the smartphone giants was acquired by HMD Global who now has full access to the mobile designs of Nokia devices
HDM Global has since then released some impressive devices, which was also accompanied with few other feature phones, including Nokia 130 and Nokia 105 that features decent specs, in fact recently this month they released Nokia 3310 that supports 4G LTE.
Past Highlights Of Arto Nummela
- Served various leadership roles in sales and marketing
- Spent over 10 years working for Nokia
- Former Microsoft worker
- Prior to his resignations, he was the President of HTC and group director of French telecom Orange
Looking at those past highlights of Nummela you will discover that even when Nokia was being acquired by HMD Global as at last year December he was present so he must have had a lot of experience in mobile industry however his resignation is still a shock, it not as if he was being asked to leave.
An Unknown Reason
It was a deliberate action that he decided to do calming that he resigned for a mutual reason which he has refused to disclose to the public.
According to press release, The Chairman of the Board (Sam Chin) was quoted to have said;
Arto Nummela has played a key role in the creation of the HMD Global operation, building the team and launching our first products. On behalf of the whole Board, I thank Arto for his contribution and wish him well in his future endeavors.
Nummela next line of action is unknown yet but HMD Global is trying all their best to awaken the Nokia branding because the absence of a senior executive is not a good thing for the company.
